To ensure precision, all of the BA Shredder’s key components are aligned along a single datum plane. This eliminates tolerance stack-ups and guarantees reliable performance, independent of welding accuracy or fixture setup.

Through the use of finite element analysis, material thickness has been optimized and overall weight reduced. The result is a grinder that combines maximum rigidity with high efficiency.

The multi-axis tracking system further enhances usability. It provides smooth, dependable tracking in both forward and reverse directions, with on-the-fly adjustment of both the primary and secondary axes—even while the motor is running.

What’s New in 2024 for the BA Shredder 2×72 Belt Grinder

We now use a 1/2″ steel plate for the D-plate, drilling and tapping it for enhanced performance. This significant change increases rigidity and reduces the amount of hardware needed to complete your build.
The motor plate/primary datum plate has transitioned from 3/16″ thick to 3/8″ thick, doubling its strength and rigidity. This reduction in vibration enhances the overall grinding experience.
The tracking system has taken a massive leap forward with this new updated design.
- The improved tracking system includes comfort grip ergonomic knobs, which eliminate slop in the forward-facing adjustment knob. This design makes the system much more responsive.
- We replaced the steel tubing with a massive 1/2″ thick steel arm, which features the largest hinge on the market. This provides unparalleled rigidity and consistent tracking.
- The handle has been moved back 10″, allowing for much more room for slack belt grinding.
All other frame components have been thickened from 3/16″ to 1/4″ thick, increasing the rigidity of the entire grinder.
The size of the main body has been shortened, providing more room for tooling arms.
We now handle all the machining for you. There’s no longer a need to drill and tap any of the parts.
A 4″ smooth rubber contact wheel now comes standard in the base kit.

Great product easy to put together. Have had it for almost 3 years easy to make attachments .would highly recommend for the beginner and professional. Great customer service also there was a space missing and he had it shipped out next day air .

I bought the kit and wheels. Fast shipping and great support. I also got the recommended motor and VFD, and everything went together perfectly. Richard is quick to respond to questions and the one time I completely mis-understood how to attach the drive wheel, he set me straight immediately.

The grinder really lives up to its name, absolutely shredding through steel with very little effort. It runs smoothly and I look forward to years and years of knife-making with it.
